Lap Swim

Aqua Fitness
Certified fitness instructors lead a fun and invigorating workout in the water.  Aqua fitness is easy on the joints and swimming skills are not necessary!

 

American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program
Adult Beginner Swimming Lessons  Classes are offered for beginning adults who have never learned to swim, are nervous around the water, or need to refresh their skills.

Parent & Child Aquatics
Red Cross recommends that preschool children attend lessons with their parents. Classes are offered based on the latest Red Cross skills outline: Minnows; 6-18 months, Dolphins; 18-36 months and Whales; 3 & 4 years old. Parents will need to enter the water with their children for all three classes. Additional child-only lessons are also available for those age 5 and up.

Private and Semi-Private Lessons
Our Red Cross certified instructors will give you or your child the personal attention needed to feel comfortable learning to swim. Whether it is a beginner level or moving on into more advanced skills, this option can fit your needs. Also great for adults or anyone with special needs. Open Swim – all ages
Join us for lifeguard supervised Open Swim at VandenBerge Pool in Elk River. Children 6 and under who cannot swim 20 yards MUST be accompanied by an adult in the water.  One to three children age 6 or under per adult in the water.  All children wearing diapers must have swimming diapers. Click here to view open swim offerings.

 

POOL LOCATION AND GENERAL INFORMATION:

  • All lessons and pool activities are held at VandenBerge Pool located at 948 Proctor Road in Elk River. Park in the lot on School Street and use door M.
  • At times during the school year, the pool temperature is dropped to meet the needs of the varsity swim teams. The water may feel a little cool.
  • Only swim wear may be worn in pool.
  • Spectator seating is open during lessons and open swim times.
  • Showers are required of all participants before entering the pool.
  • The use of water wings, floating toys, rafts, inner tubes, life jackets, etc. is not allowed.
  • Shoes MAY NOT be worn on pool deck by participants or spectators.
  • NO food, beverage, candy or gum is allowed in the pool area.
