Enrich, Explore and Expand!

Elementary age children have a wide selection of activities to build upon their interests or to develop new ones.  These activities also reinforce skills and concepts from school in fun and hands-on environments, to provide practical application of learning to every life.  Popular topics are repeated from season to season with a variety of new offerings sprinkled in each time, as well.

Many youth program expenses qualify for education credit and/or deductions!

Math, Reading, Science

Specific offerings in math and reading are held in group and individual settings, including the popular at-home summer program: G.R.A.S.P. ~ Summer Math and Reading.  Math and engineering concepts come alive with exciting classes in Lego Robotics, Wheels and Gears, and more.  Science activities capture the interest of all ages with experiments and discoveries ranging from concoctions to space travel to weather and nature mysteries.  Individual tutoring is also available on a year-round basis.  Learn from ISD 728 teachers who understand your child's curriculum.

Special EdVentures

“EdVentures” combine education with adventure.  The after school hours are a great time for activities and fun with friends.  The After School Special EdVentures bring a theme day to each elementary school every month or two for all to enjoy.  Children stay after school for a make-and-eat snack as well as a project and games. 

Health & Fitness

Physical activities are very important to healthy growth and development, plus they’re fun!  Physical fitness opportunities frequently include after school games and skills activities in the gym or outdoors.  Karate and other activities are also available most times of the year.

Safety Classes

Firearms, Snowmobile, ATV and Boat & Water Safety are offered on a seasonal basis. Babysitter Training and other personal safety classes are regularly offered.  Please carefully check the age and attendance requirements listed in the descriptions for these classes.

Art Classes

Community Education provides a wide array of exciting and interesting art classes sure to fit your child's interests.  Choose from a variety of individual music and group lessons featuring lessons in voice, brass, piano, drums, flute and guitar in our Crescendo Music program or sign up for our Strings for Youth option to explore the violin, viola and cello.

Acting, clay, painting, jewelry, ceramics, dance and more are offered regularly throughout the year.  Community Education offers your child the opportunity to explore a new interest without a significant financial investment.
