The program is designed to provide
pregnant or parenting teens with information about
pregnancy, birth, parenting and community resources. Open
to District 728 students and area residents who may not
be in school. For more information or to register contact
ECFE at 241-3524, or contact the school counselor, school
nurse, or the Ivan Sand Community School. Home visits are
also available. Co-sponsored by Dist. 728 Ivan Sand
Community School and ECFE. Classes are held at the Handke
school in the ECFE rooms. Use Door 6.
Program Purpose:
The Young Parent Program seeks
to:
- Provide support and information
for expectant parents.
- Provide support and information
to adolescent parents.
How do I get
started?
A licensed educator will
meet with you one to one to determine your needs. Class
meets 2 times a week for those students who are pregnant
and 2 times a week for those who are parenting. Classes
meet for 2 hours in the afternoon during the school
year.
