The ECFE Advisory Council holds several one-time fund-raising events througout the year as well as the on-going fund-raising conducted through Scholastic Book Clubs. We raise money to support the ECFE in any way we can.

This year, the ECFE Advisory Council has set a goal for ourselves- improve the Handke playground. The playground is currently built to the standards of 5 to 12 year-old children. The Advisory Council is looking to make the playground more age-appropriate for our toddlers and preschoolers, making it safer and more enjoyable for all. Though there will undoubtedly be several phases to completing all the desired changes, some of them include: lowering the monkey bars; removing the fireman's poll & replacing it with a panel; replacing the steering wheels that were once on the panel in the tower; removing the rail track all together & putting a swing set in its place; and adding a bench for teachers and parents to keep a watchful eye on our little ones from. We hope you are as excited for these improvements as we are! None of these changes would be possible without your attendance to our events and your contributions. Thank you!

On-Going Fundraising ~ Scholastic Book Orders

Selling Scholastic Books in an ongoing fundraising event throughout the entire school year. Last year, we received 202 free books from the points earned by your purchases from the Scholastic Book Orders received from February to May 2007. Those books were given to each graduating preschooler in the Discovery Learning Classes.

If you would like to save money on books and help us earn free books in the process, look for the Scholastic Book catalogs above the coat racks in the hallway to Room 12. There are instructions on how to submit an order on the wall as you enter the hallway and a plastic bin that will have brown paper bags to put those orders in. Remember to make your checks payable the Scholastic Book Club and to label your bags with your name and phone number in case there are any questions about your order.
