Breakaway Hockey League
Choose Your Home Arena Rogers Activity Center/Parks & Recreation in partnership with the City of Elk River Ice Arena and Monticello Moose Sherritt Arena are now accepting registrations for Breakaway Hockey Leagues for levels Mini Mites through PeeWees at the Rogers Activity Center. Please go to the respective site location links for full details. League runs approximately mid March – Mid May.

Spring Skating

Neighborhood outdoor skating rinks (Triangle Park - hockey & open skate rinks and RAC - hockey rink) will open around mid-December (weather permitting). Check out our website for updates and warming house schedule at www.rac.cityofrogers.org.
Adult VB/BB Leagues
New to Rogers this year, indoor spring adult co-rec volleyball and adult men’s basketball leagues. Leagues will be officiated and will begin in April. See below for details:

Step To It Challenge All Ages
(A Statewide Health Improvement Program grant to Hennepin Cty)
Be part of the City of Rogers team in this year’s walking program challenge put on by Hennepin County and co-sponsored by the MN Twins. It’s free, fun, and a challenge between 16 Cities. It’s for all ages!!
A four-week physical activity program that is done at your own pace, can be done alone or in groups, encourages activity, and promotes community friendships; even awards and promotional items will be given away to participants. A 5K route will be laid out as a general course but you’re not limited to just walking or this designated course. You also get step points for doing other types of physical activities. So have fun and be active!

Rogers Parks & Recreation is in the process of seeking sponsors for our family fun entertainment in the park for this upcoming summer. We are looking at providing four performances. Summer Nights Drop-N-Play Ages 5-10
We’re Back . . . We’re pleased to announce that we are able to bring back our popular Summer Night’s Drop-N-Play. This program is where your kids can be dropped off at the Rogers Activity Center while you enjoy a night out. Your kids will be entertained by a night of theme-related arts & crafts, games, and other supervised activities. We will even include a snack.
Children MUST be picked up on time at the end of session.

MN Twins Youth Baseball & Softball Clinic Ages 6-16
Rogers has submitted a request to host a “2010 Play Ball! Minnesota Youth Clinic”, presented by the Twins Community Fund. This would be our third year for this quality event. This clinic is FREE and no registration is required to participate. Youth participants are asked to bring their baseball or softball gloves
The clinic teaches basic fundamentals including hitting, fielding and throwing, while also providing participants with positive messages about staying in school and away from drugs and alcohol. Instruction is provided by MN Twins & Community Fund personnel with quality hands-on instruction for boys and girls.
The clinic is broken down into two 1.5 hours sessions. The first session is for youth ages 6-9 yrs old and second session is for youth ages 10-16 yrs old. Participants are divided into three groups and rotated between hitting, fielding and throwing stations.
Clinics are usually schedule on Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings during the months of April through August. Rogers has not yet received confirmation for dates but will is expected to get this information early March. Please visit our website at www.parkandrec.cityofrogers.org for updates.
City of Rogers Adopt-A-Park
Adopt-A-Park is a public service program for volunteers to assist their community by picking up litter, communicating maintenance needs and assisting in improvement projects at Rogers Community Parks. Adopt-A-Park is open to community groups, civic groups, churches, families and individual citizens for a minimum of one year. Park clean-up is performed twice a month. Park sites are chosen on a first-come, first-serve basis.
What we ask of you:
•Pick up litter in the park area, and place the bag by the park’s litter
receptacle.
•Pile up fallen branches or sticks.
•Communicate any safety or maintenance concerns you see to
Park staff immediately.
•Have fun volunteering in, and for, your community!
